I qualified as a Chartered Accountant, then joined UrbanPiper — a B2B SaaS platform serving 7,900+ restaurants across four countries. What started as managing books for one entity became owning the entire finance function: multi-entity consolidation, transfer pricing, fundraising support, and compliance across India, US, UK, and UAE.
The problem was clear early on — finance at scale breaks when your tools are spreadsheets. Most CAs ask IT for help. I learned to code and built the systems myself. Production software, used daily by the CFO and finance team.
I believe most finance failures aren't accounting problems. They're system problems nobody wants to own. I own both.
